This policy explains what personal data Syndicate Studios collects through syndicatestudios.co, why, and what rights you have. We keep it short because we collect very little.

Who we are

Syndicate Studios ([LEGAL ENTITY NAME], [REGISTERED ADDRESS]) is the data controller for the personal data described here. You can reach us at hello@syndicatestudios.co.

What we collect

  • Mailing list. When you sign up we collect your email address, which button you signed up from, and the date and time you confirmed your subscription. We keep this as a record of your consent.
  • Email activity. Our email provider may record whether our emails are delivered, opened or clicked, so we can keep the list healthy and understand what subscribers find useful.
  • Messages you send us. If you email us, we keep the correspondence so we can reply.
  • Technical data. Our hosting provider processes your IP address and browser details to serve the site and protect it from abuse. We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics that count page visits without identifying you.

Why we use it

We use your email address only to send you what you signed up for: open beta playtest invitations, the Kickstarter launch alert and development updates about Syndicate: Empire of Vice. Our legal basis is your consent, which you give by confirming your email address. Technical data is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website.

We never sell your data or share it with anyone for their own marketing.

Who processes it for us

  • Resend: stores the mailing list and sends our emails.
  • Vercel: hosts the website and provides cookieless analytics.
  • Purelymail: hosts our email inboxes.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile: may be used to check that signups come from people rather than bots.

Some of these providers are based in, or process data in, the United States. Where that happens, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

We keep your email address while you are subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we keep a minimal record that you opted out so we never email you by mistake. Email correspondence is kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry.

Cookies

This site does not set advertising or tracking cookies, so there is no cookie banner. Our analytics are cookieless.

Your rights

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email. You also have the right to access, correct or delete your data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@syndicatestudios.co.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) or your local data protection authority.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above. If the changes are significant, we will let subscribers know by email.
